Make Your Own Hummingbird Food!

One of the perks of using natural organic products on your lawn, trees and garden, is that more butterflies, bees, dragonflies and hummingbirds will be attracted to your yard! We especially enjoy seeing the same hummingbirds return to our feeders day after day, year after year. I picked up a hummingbird feeder at a discount store for $2 and this year added another one from a yard sale for $1. Don’t be discouraged if hummingbirds do not immediately come to your feeder the first week you put it out! Once, they come, they will be friends for life! Here is how to make your own food for the hummingbird feeder: Use 1/4th cup 100% pure cane sugar Use 3/4th cup filtered or distilled water. Combine ingredients in a microwave cup or bowl. Stir. Microwave for 1.30 minutes. Stir til granules are dissolved. Let mixture cool completely. Add to your hummingbird feeder. Don’t forget to clean your feeder and add new food each week. Do not use chemicals to clean. Just use water and a brush or cloth, and/or q-tips. Peace.
